Parking fine for the Scoot is halved
You may recall that a couple of months ago I got a $24 parking ticket for failing to pony up for parking my scooter in a full-car space in Old Town.
You can read about about the incident here. Briefly, I had issues with how to paste the meter-dispensed parking receipt "inside the window" of a motor scooter.
What was to keep another parker from snatching my receipt from the exterior of the scoot?
I paid the fine but included my complaint.
In yesterday's mail I received a refund check for half the fine. The check came with no explanation, just the words "Bail Refund — Found Guilty." Maybe I was half right. Or maybe I got half back because I have half the number of wheels most parkers do.
Case closed except that I still don't know how to paste a parking receipt "inside" a motorscooter.
